Bob Hope dies, Simon H profits

So, Bob Hope finally dies. I mean that in the nicest way – he was very old, bless him.
Bad news, of course, for his many admirers.
Good news, however, for Simon H, who bet in the Death Wish contest at his local pub that Bob would be the next to go. He reckons he’s up ?200, the lucky rascal. Profiting off death, that’s him.

Fun Funds News

Well, I didn’t vote for them.
The government-liasing Student Loans Company this weekend announced that the interest on Student Loans held with them would double to 3.2%. Yep, that’s me done for.
And, as the icing on the cake, today’s Daily Mail warned me of Labour’s plans to tax speeding tickets and, more importantly, parking fines. Of which I get about 3 a month (well, it’s cheaper than paying Surrey County Council’s parking charges…).
Time to think about student bankruptcy, no?

Odeon Made Accessible

Ever tried to use the Odeon website? Giving money to a company has never been so hard, such is the sheer horror of their design. Still, while we all moan about it, someone’s actually done something about it: here’s the Accessible Odeon. It gets all it’s information from the original site, but actually makes it enjoyable. So go on. Enjoy.

CamoOctopus

So there’s this octopus, yeah, and it morphs and blends into the background. No that description doesn’t do it justice – but this video does (1MB). It’s not fake either – the video comes from this scientific journal site. Absolutely amazing…

Illusions

illusions that David Copperfield would be proud of:
1) Checkerboard Shadow.
2) You Think They’re moving But They’re Not.

Clever, no?

Man drives, head severed.

Man drives 30km with head almost severed. When he arrived at a nursing home and started explaining, blood oozed out of his mouth. Charming. (via bloggerheads)
