Oh look, Boris Johnson has his own site…
Ok, ok, I’m feigning surprise. For the last few weeks, Tim and I have been slaving over a hot computer, making sure that the official Boris Johnson site has all the bells and whistles the great man wanted. I’ll be honest, I’m not too enamoured by the design – I was merely the code monkey that got their design to run.
However, it is outrageously good fortune that a political figure with such a good writing style has signed up to blog about his life as an MP – trust me, you’re in for a treat…!

“So, are you some sort of nut?” The earthy-voiced woman’s inquisitive line of questioning was heating up. It all started with an email from the Editor of the Spectator, asking the owner of Boriswatch to come forward. I duly stepped up to the plate and phoned the given number, before being greeted with Boris Johnson’s PA on the other end. She explained her problem – that the site’s visitors have been plaguing her with calls and emails about a non-existent event, and that she wants the reference to it taken down. “No problem,” I replied, turning on the charm. “While you’re on the line…”
And so it was that I managed to get the closest yet to Boris Johnson’s inner circle. She was a chatty woman – eager to divulge very little, but eager none the less. I managed to glean that Boris was aware of the site; that he is indeed planning to branch out into some sort of online presence; and that I would be well placed to help if it was needed.
I’ll admit to getting a little star-struck, even if it was a step short of the big man himself. Still, it’s only a matter of time…

A quick couple of phone calls, a few minutes of late night scribbling – and the result? Why, it’s Boriswatch on the BBC! Happy Birthday, Boris…

Two stunning new purchases have turned up – the cracking new album from Easyworld, “Kill The Last Romantic” (tracks 2 and 8 are rather fetching), and a huge tome from Boris Johnson, “Lend Me Your Ears“. That’s my weekend sorted.

A few weeks ago, I reached out to wibbler.com readers for a video of Boris Johnson‘s latest appearance on Have I Got News For You. Then, out of the blue, Richard “Badger’ Lyons turned up with the goods, and a small video-shaped parcel landed on my doormat the other day. Thanks, Badger!
